Since my teenage years, I’ve had a passionate interest in China – my abilities and interests include:

Modern and classical Chinese.

Simplified and full form characters.

Translation from English to Chinese and from Chinese to English – all genres and technical works.

I find all of China’s long history fascinating but my main area of expertise is the period from the beginning of the Qing Dynasty (1644) through to more modern times.

Indigenous folk religion, Taoism, Buddhism and Christianity.

Post-1949 international relations.

China as part of the UN Security Council.

China and the Middle East.

Who doesn't like Chinese porcelain? I'm particularly keen on Song and Ming dynasty Jun and Guan wares and Qing dynasty Famille Rose, Verte and Jaune.
